The most anticipated hip-hop album of 2020 has arrived. Run The Jewels, the duo consisting of Atlanta rapper Killer Mike and Definitive Jux founder\/rapper\/producer El-P, are finally releasing their 4th LP, RTJ4.<\/em><\/p>\n

Since their last effort with\u00a0RTJ3<\/em>, their popularity has only grown further with their music often being used in movies\/trailers, with the most notable being DJ Shadow’s “Don’t Speak” and Danger Mouse’s “Chase Me” (from Baby Drive).\u00a0<\/em>They also have release some loosie tracks here and there, such as “Let’s Go (The Royal We)” which was featured in\u00a0Venom,<\/em> and they also did a music video for “Oh Mama” as a remix\/crossover with\u00a0Rick and Morty<\/em>. That makes sense since they were introduced to each other via SVP\/Creative Director of Adult Swim, Jason DeMarco.<\/p>\n

With 2 singles released and a tracklist that certainly got us hyped, how’s the album?<\/p>\n

I’ll say this: with what’s going on in the world right now, the songs here are\u00a0very<\/em> fitting. But yes, we have another solid record from these two.<\/p>\n

Before I get to those tracks, let’s begin with the two singles. “yankee and the brave” opens like an old prime time TV show with the usual spittin’ out bars galore from these two, and of course there’s “oh la la”, which is a solid banger featuring production from the legendary DJ Premier as well as Greg Nice doing the hook.<\/p>\n
